Kerry is a life guide, author, rock vocalist and painter, based in Lisbon and working with clients worldwide. She is comfortable on a podcast, on a stage, on a panel, and in a room of twelve people with their notebooks open. She has been interviewed about reinvention, narcissistic abuse, chronic illness, midlife, self-inquiry and the practical business of moving countries at fifty-eight. She is happy to take the questions cold and she will answer the hard one.
Use them as they are. If you need something in your own house style, cut rather than add, and keep the two books and Lisbon.

Short bio
Kerry Pastine is a life guide, author, rock vocalist and painter with twenty-five years of coaching behind her. She wrote Take Back Your Self (2026), a guided journal built on six questions she worked out one client at a time, and Know Thyself (2012) before it. A third book, Take Back Your Heart, puts the same six to work on love and relationships.
What she teaches, she has used. She came through narcissistic abuse, chronic illness, and a move to Portugal at sixty that cost more than she had planned for, and found her way back on paper, alone, with her own questions. She fronts the rock band Kerry Pastine and The Crime Scene and has shown paintings in the United States and across Europe. She lives in Lisbon and sees private clients over video.
Speaker introduction
Kerry Pastine is a life guide rather than a therapist. She has been through the kind of thing that rearranges a person, and she came back with the route written down.
She has sat with hundreds of clients over twenty-five years, through the transitions that arrive uninvited: divorce, bereavement, illness, a career that stopped fitting, a move to a country where they were a stranger. She has fronted rock bands for three decades. She has shown paintings in the United States and across Europe. She has survived narcissistic abuse and serious chronic illness. At sixty she packed up a life in Denver and rebuilt it in Lisbon, which took longer and cost more than anyone warned her it would. She asks of a client only what she has already done herself.
In 2026 she published Take Back Your Self, a guided journal built on six chapters in order: Discover, Understand, Accept, Nurture, Be, Design. It is a process rather than a formula, and it is meant to be written in.
She speaks and writes about self-knowledge, reinvention after forty-five, emotional intelligence, loneliness, and what it takes to design a life that looks like the person living it. She brings the warmth of a mentor, the bluntness of someone who has been at the bottom of it, and the humor of a woman who has found her way back more than once.
